Parliamentary committee has supported Bonn moot boycott and convening joint session of parliament.
The meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security was held under the chairmanship of Senator Raza Rabbani. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar, foreign secretary and defence secretary attended the meeting.
The prime minister briefed the participants that the government took adequate actions after NATO attack and the decision of stopping NATO supplies was taken in national interest.
The prime minister said despite being contacted by numerous international leaders including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the decision to boycott the Bonn Conference was in the interest of national security.
Gilani has also said that the government, the nation and Pak Army were on the same page on the issue of NATO aggression.
DG Military Operations Major General Ashfaq Nadeem told the committee that NATO strike was deliberate and despite of warnings from Pakistan NATO helicopters continued the attack. DG MO said that Pakistani soldiers hoisted the national flag for seize fire which was still present at the check post.
Disconnection of satellite communication caused difficulties to retaliate the NATO strike and to get help of Pakistan Air Force, explained DG MO.
